What is AIRMATIC?
AIRMATIC is Mercedes-Benz's air suspension system, using air-filled struts and an onboard compressor to automatically adjust ride height and comfort. Over time, rubber air struts can develop leaks and the compressor can wear out, leading to a bumpy ride or the vehicle sitting low.
Warning Signs of an AIRMATIC Fault
- The vehicle sits noticeably lower on one or more corners overnight
- A suspension or 'Visit Workshop' warning light on the dashboard
- A harsher, bouncier ride than usual
- Unusual compressor noise when starting the vehicle
